UR Travel

The Undergraduate Research Program provides travel funding to a small number of students selected to present their research at two highly selective undergraduate research conferences beyond TSC’s campus. The Florida Undergraduate Research Conference (FURC) is a statewide undergraduate research conference that features research carried out by students from colleges and universities throughout the state of Florida. The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is the nation’s oldest and largest undergraduate research conference, featuring some 5,000 student presenters annually. Selection for both FURC and NCUR is competitive, and students must submit an abstract through each event’s website to have their projects considered.

In addition to submitting an abstract to present at FURC or NCUR, students must complete an application for travel funding. Students awarded funding will travel together with other FURC and NCUR presenters from TSC. To apply for funding, students must:

  • Secure a faculty research mentor and complete a project under their supervision
  • Be current TSC students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Submit a travel award application by clicking on the link below
  • Complete a separate application to present at FURC and/or NCUR
